December 25th, 2021 looked a little different for us this year, in the best way! As we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior, we also had a little something else to celebrate this year. My boyfriend’s dad wed the loveliest woman, whom we absolutely adore, on Christmas day. It was the dreamiest winter wedding set in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains.
When they first got engaged, they had talked about several options for the intimate elopement that they had in mind. Eloping in Africa, celebrating in Mexico, maybe even a quiet backyard ceremony at home. With Covid presenting consistent roadblocks and with the particular chapter of life they are in, they knew they wanted their wedding ceremony to be low-key, intimate and special, just them. So, Ryan and I were absolutely THRILLED when they asked us to join them for a week of wedding celebration in Vail, Colorado over the holidays!
A Christmas day wedding in a winter wonderland. It was magical.
God certainly works in mysterious and wonderful ways. Lori and Charles’ story has funny, ironic little pieces, such as Lori buying Ryan’s childhood home and living in it before Charles and Lori even knew each other, but it’s also a story of unexpected blessings, unexplainable peace, and pure joy.
We believe it was somewhat of a divine intervention that brought Lori into Charles’ life, but I also must say from a personal perspective, that God has answered many of my own prayers, not only by bringing Ryan into my life, but also by blessing me with this wonderful bonus family. What a dream!
Their ceremony was in the most beautiful chapel, in a grove of Balsam trees located at the base of the world class Beaver Creek Ski Mountain. While there was talk of skiing all day and then skiing right down into the chapel (officiant included!) and saying their vows in ski gear, we opted to get a little dressed up instead ;)
Their ceremony was sweet and intimate, just as they hoped, complete with tears and smiles and a beautiful Apache wedding blessing they asked me to read, which I think fits them perfectly:
“Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you. May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years. May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth.”
Charles and Lori, it is with heartfelt gratitude that Ryan and I thank you for including us in the beginning of your incredibly special journey. We are are so excited to witness the beauty and joy that is bound to come in the many years ahead.
We love you so much!

My personal favorite moment of the day was after the ceremony, when Nate and Jessica were signing the marriage license to make it official. The energy in the room was ecstatic and Jessica couldn’t contain her excitement! Haha I love these two, congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Allison!
Renee and Steven wed over the summer at the stunning Skamania Lodge. I’ve known Renee since she was a little girl, through our church, and have taken several photos for her family and siblings over the years, so it was extra special for me to capture her wedding day.
Steven had a fun morning playing golf with his groomsmen while Renee and her girls relaxed and sipped mimosas as they got ready. They opted for the traditional “first look” and Steven saw his bride for the first time that day as she walked down the aisle towards in him, surrounded by close friends and family. They had the sweetest vows and the toasts given later in the evening were just as sweet. I love how adoringly Steven looks at Renee and I especially love how much fun these two have together. They make a good team… not to mention a good team on the dance floor, as well.
Renee and Steven, I had an absolute blast documenting your wedding day. Thank you for choosing me to partake in the celebration and I am so happy you two found each other. “The point is… you two are perfect together,” Congratulations!

The most celebrated and anticipated wedding day of 2021!
Drew and Cassie have been together for over 10 years and all who know them have been waiting for this day for a very, very long time ;) FINALLY! Mom and dad are married!
I met Cassie freshman year of college in 2008 and have stayed close friends with her ever since. We have so many memories and adventures together over the last decade, and she means so much to me! Watching her love and be loved by Drew has been the most amazing adventure to witness yet and has set the highest of standards of what love is. I’ve been one of the lucky few to be their roommate over the years so I have had a front row seat to this relationship through many trials and triumphs of life. Cass and Drew are the real deal: meant to be, lifelong soulmates, true unconditional love. Unstoppable.
When Drew finally proposed, the world rejoiced and wedding planning began…. until the pandemic hit. This was just one of the many things that Cassie and Drew persevered through and even strengthened their bond through. While their 2020 wedding was put on hold, the optimistic duo invited our close friend group to Drew’s family owned private island for the week of what would have been their wedding week. “Friend Island.” We grilled, water skied, karaoke-d, sat together under the stars, and maximized what Cassie and Drew do best - enjoy quality time with friends. What they didn’t know when they invited us to their summer getaway was that we had something of our own up our sleeves and were not going to let their wedding week go un-wedding. We through a “ramblance” of a wedding one night for them and it is a night I will remember forever!

Fast forward to July 2021 and their REAL wedding day was finally here! It was only fitting that they chose a place like the MV Skansonia to get married at, where boats sail through and planes fly by. Drew builds airplanes and Cassie is the baddest female boat captain I’ve ever seen. They spend 99% of their time together on planes and boats, so saying their vows on Lake Union with the Seattle skyline in the backdrop and boats and planes flying by was the perfect setting! It was a special treat for me to experience the day along Cassie’s side as her bridesmaid while I had the most amazing team help me capture the day. Special thanks to Ellie Parker and Birman Visuals for your hard work and creativity in documenting this incredibly special day.
Cassie and Drew, I’m forever grateful for your friendship. Thank you for showing us all what love should look like and for including us all in your love story throughout the years! My heart is bursting re-living this day and it’ll forever be one of my favorite weddings ever - I love you guys so, so much.

Phi and Kelsie gathered all of their friends and families at one of my favorite venues, the Red Barn Studios, to celebrate their wedding day this year. After nearly a decade of being together, and the delay and wait for their wedding day due to COVID, this day was greatly anticipated. We were blessed with a beautiful summer day for their ceremony, the bridal party kept me laughing all day, the toasts were fantastic, and the dance floor was a riot. A party for the books! Enjoy some of my favorite images from their wedding day.
Cheers to your new chapter, Mr. and Mrs. Han!

A classic young love romance story based in the midwest. Alex and Amy were only teenagers when they fell in love. At 16 years old, Alex walked up to Amy’s house and knocked on her front door to take her on their first date. He met Amy, her parents, and her grandparents all at the same time! After their first date out to the movies, the rest was history. Out of the 8 years that these two have dated, I find it fascinating that 6 out of 8 of those years they spent living a plane ride away from each other, following their own dreams, while still being committed to each other. Evidently all of it was worth it because it let them here - to their wedding day.
What an honor it was for me to capture this special day in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I adore their friends and families so much and had a blast capturing all of the cute couples, candid laughs, and sweet parent-child moments throughout the day. Alex and Amy wed at Good Shepherd United Methodist church and celebrated afterwards at the Sycamore Hills Golf Club. Greg Getty from The Urban Petal, a floral mastermind, filled the room with elegant floral pieces and strung stunning greenery from the chandeliers to create a real life fairytale. It was truly a beautiful and joyous day.
Alex and Amy exude an infectious type of joy together, and their smiles both light up a room. They are just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside and together, they are a match made in heaven.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hammond!

Ani & Jen got married at the beautiful Silvara Cellars in Leavenworth, Washington. These two love their wine so it seemed only fitting to get married at a winery and vineyard.
Together with their family and friends (virtually and physically), they exchanged beautiful vows to each other and celebrated their new chapter as husband and wife. What I love most about these two is how much they make each other laugh. Seriously, they are always giggling about something together! Their joy is infectious and their love story is a gift for all to witness. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Talwar!
Anna is a midwest American sweetheart from Nebraska and Conner is a PNW raised family man from Oregon. Their meeting and falling in love was quite serendipitous. Conner is a professional golfer and Anna was working the bar cart at a golf course when the two of them stumbled upon each other at Hole 5 of Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Nebraska. Truly fitting!
The weird thing is that Conner is from my neck of the woods, and I didn’t even know him. I met Anna in Colorado while we were both volunteering for a nonprofit that serves communities in Honduras. Upon meeting, she’s like “Oh, I’ve been to Oregon! My boyfriend and his family are from there.” Small world. Fast forward a few years later and I was shooting their engagement session in Oregon and then I was fortunate enough to capture their wedding day in Nebraska nearly a year after that. I adore these two. They have a strong bond, fierce loyalty, and a Christ-centered relationship (now marriage) that is so beautiful.
Anna and Conner were wedded in their home church, by their Pastor and dear friend. It was a beautiful ceremony, followed by a joyous celebration. I say this over and over, but I am so lucky to have clients whose families’ make ME feel like family and this wedding was absolutely no exception.
Anna and Conner, thank you for choosing me to be a part of your wedding day. It’s an honor to capture such an important piece of your love story, and even more of an honor to call you two friends! So happy for you guys and can’t wait to see you again.
I met Hannah and Adam on a Norwegian Cruise to the Bahamas in 2019. I was thrilled when they asked me to join them in Florida and capture their wedding day this February!
Their wedding took place at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater, Florida. We began the morning with the girls sipping champagne and getting ready in an upper hotel room overlooking the ocean while the guys relaxed poolside. I ADORED all of Hannah and Adam’s friends in their bridal party, they are all so kind, laid back, and so funny. I had a great time getting to know all of them!
Their first look was the sweetest. I love how Adam looks at Hannah like she is the best thing that has ever happened to him. They make the cutest couple! They shared their vows together in an intimate moment between just the two of them and then they said their “I do’s” down on the beach, amongst their family and friends.
These people know how to party. The celebration went well into the night and was filled with drinks, dancing, sunset smooching, booty shaking, limbo, jokes, cigars, laughter, and love. It was a night to remember.
Hannah and Adam, you guys are so loved. I loved meeting all of your friends and family and seeing just how special you two are to everyone around you. It’s no wonder we met on that cruise 2 years ago, you both are so outgoing, adventurous, kind, compassionate, and loving, and I’m fortunate to call you friends. Here’s to you Mr. and Mrs. DeSantis!
THEY ARE GOOFY, KIND, COMPASSIONATE, STRONG, LOYAL, FAITHFUL BEAUTIFUL, AND FULL OF JOY.
THEY LOVE JESUS.
THEY REFLECT EACH OTHER’S BRIGHT LIGHT.
THEIR LOVE GLORIFIES GOD IN A WAY THAT INSPIRES US ALL.
This whole wedding weekend had me emotional. From their baptism together, to sweet words said at their rehearsal dinner, to God’s fingerprints all over their wedding day…. it was a weekend to remember, and I was so honored to be a part of it all. I’ve been able to witness their journey first-hand for so many years, so it was extra special to be able to capture their wedding day. Rather than trying to explain how beautiful this couple is not only on the outside, but also on the inside, I suggest just clicking PLAY on the video and seeing for yourself. Cue laughter, tears, and all the feels.
I thought it was so powerful that they chose to get baptized together the day before their wedding. Cydney’s brother, Andrew, baptized them as their family watched. Here are a couple snapshots I grabbed while filming this special morning:
And a few photos from their rehearsal evening, just because:
Disclaimer: I was NOT their photographer, but just grabbed a few of those photos while I was filming their wedding weekend. Vanessa Gray did a spectacular job photographing their wedding day: SEE HERE
Dear Cyd and Will,
I’m so grateful that people like you exist and the love you share exists! It is a LIGHT to this world.
It’s been an honor to witness the growth of your relationship over the last 6+ years, to capture your wedding day, and to be a part of your whole journey. I am grateful and I love you guys so much.
I can’t wait to see how God blesses your marriage and uses your union to bless those around you and to change the world!
Haley and Scotty wed on the most beautiful fall day in Indianapolis, Indiana.
They began the morning by each getting ready in family homes within walking distance of their catholic church. Haley in her childhood home, Scotty in his. Just to give you a little insight into this couple’s sweet relationship, Scotty had the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers delivered to his bride while she was getting ready with her girls. It was so thoughtful.
Scotty walked the same “walk” to his wedding day with his groomsmen as he walked as a child every Sunday morning to mass. The couple held hands as they read sweet letters to each other before the ceremony.
I believe they broke the wedding record of amount of flower girls and ring bearers. The whole day was a true family affair! After the mass, their large (and in charge) bridal party hopped onto the party bus and everyone clinked White Claws and got down to 90s jams. This was only a taste into how the rest of the evening would go down…
The Millers entered their party complete with Millers Lites in hand and sunglasses on as they walked into the sea of waving napkins and hollering. After toasts and first dances, Rod Tuffcurls & The Benchpress band really got the party going and everyone up and dancing the rest of the evening.
It was a night to remember.
Haley and Scotty, thank you for choosing me to completely capture the most marvelous day! It’s been a pleasure to get to know you, your families, and friends over the course of the year. I adore you two and am excited to see where the next chapter of your lives, as husband and wife, takes you! Here’s to the Millers.

Paul and Maggie hosted a beautiful wedding weekend in Cannon Beach, OR in October with their close friends and family. These two have been together for so many years, have traveled several countries together, and have already done so much life together, that this formality of a marriage ceremony was wildly overdue and finally happening! And no batter place than the Oregon Coast to make that happen.
While we rehearsed the ceremony on the beach, the evening before, in the wind and rain, the clouds opened up the next day and it was a beautiful, blue sky, Oregon Coast day for their wedding! The boys started off by spending the morning down on the beach, playing games, grilling, and drinking beer, while the ladies were up in the cabin sipping mimosas. It was a very relaxing morning.
Jaws were in the sand as Maggie walked through the beach grass towards Paul at the ceremony. They had a simply beautiful setup for their ceremony, and they said beautiful vows to each other as onlookers walked by on the beach. Afterwards, we danced, toasted, and celebrated Paul and Maggie at the McMenamins Gearhart hotel. It was such a lovely evening!
Paul and Maggie, thank you for including me in such a special weekend. All of the events of the entire weekend were so memorable, and I was honored to be a part of it all. The amount of joy that you two exude as a couple is contagious, and you love each other and others so well. I admire your love and am grateful that I had the opportunity to capture this chapter of your story. xox
A Santa Barbara Wedding turned Colorado Elopement
“To sum up all of my love I have for you in one paragraph is impossible.” -Miles
I could say the same for this wedding day.
To sum up all of the joy I witnessed, all of the love I felt, and all of the intimate moments of this day feels merely impossible, but I’ll do my best.
Angie and Miles were set to be wed amongst 100+ of their friends and family in Santa Barbara, CA, Angie’s home state. Along with every engaged couple in 2020, they experienced so many ups and downs and rescheduling and canceling and rescheduling their big day. I spoke to Angie on the phone several times throughout this process, and it was depleting to hear the sadness in her voice every time, especially when they ultimately decided to throw in the towel. A few weeks later, I was happy to hear a glimpse of hope in her voice when she called and said, “Scratch that! We’re doing it! A completely different way, but we’re doing it. We’re getting married!”
I believe their wedding day was totally orchestrated by God and happened exactly the way it was supposed to. Grand Lake, Colorado could not have been a more special place to make this happen.
Arriving into the quaint and cute little town mid September, the air was brisk and you could just smell FALL. The hills were blanketed with yellow and orange glow and the leaves were just beginning to fall. We had a lovely and intimate evening, the night before the wedding, on the deck of the one of the cabins. I loved getting to be a part of such a special night, and thank you to Miles and Angie’s families for making ME feel like family. Waking up the next morning, it’s as if Fall was like “Okay , it’s time to step it up and show off for the big day!” I swear the yellow and orange leaves turned even brighter on the day of their wedding!!! The entire little town of Grand Lake was STUNNING.
Miles and his boys began the day by golfing while Angie had breakfast with her parents and then went on a hike with her best friend, Chelsea. The children all played and picked leaves in preparation to throw down at the ceremony prelude. Angie’s family has a cabin in Grand Lake that has been in the family for years. I loved learning about their history of this special place. It seemed only fitting that she got ready for her wedding day in a place with so many childhood memories. (Side-note: Miles also proposed to Angie in Grand Lake - can this place get any more sentimental, seriously?!) Angie spent the morning listening to worship music as she wrote her vows, reading sweet notes from her friends that couldn’t be there, and dancing to 90s jams with her dog as she got ready. I hope my wedding day someday starts off just like Angie’s.
Nothing could take away her beaming smile or the peace in her heart all morning. Angie, you exude so much joy in general and you are just such a special human. While always in awe of your beauty, I also discovered so much of your inner beauty on your wedding day :) You are full of love and laughter, you are a goofball, full of grace, and you are armed with strength. You are a light.
Miles is one of those men that when he speaks, you listen. He is so gentle, kind, and full of wisdom. And he LOVES Angie. Probably one of my favorite groom reactions was when he watched Angie walk down the aisle of Aspens towards him at their intimate ceremony. He had the sweetest vows prepared for Angie (see video for a little preview!) and it’s just so plain and simple how much these two really cherish each other.
Included in the wedding weekend was just their immediate family members, and it was easy to see why Angie and Miles are such wonderful human beings after getting to know the tribes in which they come from!
It was such a beautiful day and joyous weekend.
Alright, obviously their wedding day was so perfect, and I could go on and on, but let’s be honest - you came here to drool over how beautiful these two are, not to read through my “paragraph” turned novel.
One of my personal favorite memories from the whole weekend in Grand Lake was being the first person to get to hang out with Angie and Miles the day after their wedding, and we even saw a moose! Please don’t miss my personal favorite photos of Angie and Miles and SCROLL ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM TO SEE HOW MUCH FUN WE HAD IN ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK AT 8AM.
And yes… Angie woke up like that.
Angie and Miles, I love you guys. Thank you for including me in all of the intimacy that encompassed your entire wedding weekend. Thank you for opening your hearts, sharing your families, and letting me in one of the greatest love stories ever! Judging by 2020, you guys are clearly unstoppable, and I can’t wait to see where this crazy ride of life takes the rest of your love story. xoxo.
